EU Citizen Registration in Cyprus

EU Citizen Registration in Cyprus

European Union Citizens enjoy the advantage of traveling, residing and working in the Republic of Cyprus under the same conditions as Cypriot citizens.

An EU citizen who plans to stay for more than 90 days in the Republic of Cyprus is required under the Law to attend the Civil Registry and Migration Department or any immigration Office of his city he is residing and apply for the Registration Certificate most commonly known as “the Yellow Slip”.

The application and registration of an EU national in the Republic of Cyprus must be submitted within 4 months from the date of their entry to the Republic of Cyprus. The Registration Certificate for the EU nationals, the Yellow slip, is issued the same day, is valid for a lifetime and does not need to be renewed.

The above Registration Certificate is granted to EU nationals who have the financial resources for living in the Republic of Cyprus or to those who have secured a job in the Republic of Cyprus.

In order to obtain the above Registration Certificate an EU applicant must personally attend the Civil Registry and Migration Department or any Immigration Office of his city he resides in the Republic of Cyprus with his passport and depending on which of the above category (visitor or employee) must present the following documents :
